Install using the WordPress built-in Plugin installer, or Extract the zip file and drop the contents in the `wp-content/plugins/` directory of your WordPress installation. 2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress. 3. Go to Templates > Custom Widgets 4. Press the ‘Add New” button at the top of the page. 5. Enter a name for your widget, select a category and submit! 6. In the Elementor editor drag & drop elements to start building your widget. 7. You will notice “+” icons next to controls of widgets you use to design your template. 8. Clicking the “+” buttons will add the respective control to your widget’s control list. 9. Click publish and edit any other page, post or even custom widget and your newly created widget is now available for use from the widgets list in the Elementor editor. Only under very specific circumstances which are extremely hard to test due to the amount of third party widgets out there should you have any issues. Feel free to get in touch we are always looking for ways to improve and make it more compatible with other extensions. ### Do I need Elementor PRO? I tried several times to use this plugin as I wanted a way to create my own widgets in Elementor. Unfortunately, each time I Activated the plugin it crashes the website( White Screen of Death) You then have to go onto the server (luckily I have access), and rename the plugin to .bak so it gives you website admin access back. Then Delete the Plugin from the Server plugins folder. I really wanted this to work, as it would add a lot of value for me. But….. When installing the plugin, as soon as you click ‘Activate’ it kills the entire website. You cannot access the WP Admin site or anything else. I had to contact my host to fix the issue. The error from the logs is: Fatal error: Access level to EWBPro\Modules\ Custom_Widget\Source_EWB::get_current_tab_group() must be public (as in class Elementor\ TemplateLibrary\Source_Local) in /var/www/wptbox/wp-content/plugins/elebuilder-pro/ includes/custom-widget/source.php on line 469 I tried to report this to support, so I logged into my EleBuilder account. Clicking on the support link shows a blank page. Trying to perform any other operation in account results in the same thing: blank page. Digging further, the page has heaps of Javascript and other errors. So, I used the ‘Contact Us’ on the main website. Apparently my message was successfully submitted. Well that was about 4 days ago. No reply yet. To start the trial you need to supply your credit card details. Now, I want to cancel. But, the account page doesn’t work. Can’t contact support. This is a very bad experience. Warning: do not install this plugin, no matter how enticing it looks. I was on the lookout to create my own custom post widget in elementor and whenever I activated this plugin I get the “There has been a critical error on your website” message. And then I tried this again on a fresh Wordpress install and received the same message. And then finally I deactivated this plugin through cpanel by renaming the folder (because my admin was inaccessible due to the error). And guess what, my website reverted back to normal. I hope you guys fix this and then I will edit my review.
