## Сүрөттөө

**The blog post you keep meaning to write gets written and published without you.**

You know the blog brings customers. You also know it is the first thing that stops
when the week gets busy. Six weeks later the last post still says “Spring opening
hours”.

[BlogTend](https://blogtend.com/) is article automation for people whose real job
isn’t blogging. You name a subject and a rhythm once — daily, weekly, monthly. From
then on, every time the schedule comes due, BlogTend researches the topic on the
live web, writes the article from what it found, generates the featured image, fills
in your SEO fields and publishes the finished post to this site. Or leaves it as
a draft, if you would rather look first.

This plugin is the WordPress side of that connection. Install it, copy one token,
and your site is connected.

#### What actually happens on each run

 1. **Research.** It searches the open web for what is true right now, fetches every
source it intends to cite, and drops anything it cannot reach.
 2. **Write.** The article is written from those verified findings rather than from
a model’s memory, in your language and your angle, with the citations kept.
 3. **Design.** Blocks, not a wall of paragraphs — and painted with the colours and
fonts read from your own theme, so nothing lands as a white card on a dark page.
 4. **Illustrate.** A featured image, generated for the subject.
 5. **Optimise.** SEO title, meta description and focus keyword written straight into
    Yoast SEO or Rank Math.
 6. **Publish.** Live on schedule, or held as a draft for you. Either way you get an
    email.

Before any of that, BlogTend checks the planned title against everything already
on your site. Too close to something you have? It is skipped, and skipping costs
you nothing.

#### What lands on your site

Not a grey slab of text. Every article is assembled from blocks a person will actually
read to the end:

 * **Comparison tables** when the answer is a choice between options.
 * **Figures built from real HTML**, so the numbers stay as text a search engine
and an AI assistant can quote — not baked into a picture.
 * **Numbered steps, pros-and-cons columns, and a takeaways box** at the top.
 * **A real FAQ**, phrased the way people ask an assistant, marked up so answer
   engines can lift it.
 * **Internal links** to the posts and product pages you already have, so the blog
   compounds instead of sprawling.
 * **The sources it used**, listed and linked, re-checked against the live web at
   publish time.

Every block is plain HTML that survives WordPress’s own filtering. No stylesheet
to strip, nothing that arrives on the page as visible CSS.

#### You decide how much rope it gets

 * **Publish** — straight to the site, on schedule.
 * **Draft** — lands in your Drafts for approval, published one by one or all at
   once.
 * **Hold** — stays in BlogTend until you send it.

Switch between them whenever you like. Anything published is a normal WordPress
post: edit it, delete it, move it, exactly as you would your own.

#### Already have posts going stale?

Point BlogTend at an article that is already live and it rewrites it in place —
same URL, same publish date, its own links kept, with a fresh record of what it
checked. Old posts stop being dead weight.

#### Why this plugin instead of an Application Password

Application Passwords are fine when your host allows them. Often they don’t: the
section is hidden, a security plugin switched it off, or the host strips the `Authorization`
header. This plugin sidesteps all of that, and does a few things a username and
password cannot:

 * **One token, revocable in a click.** Created in **Settings BlogTend**, shown
once, stored only as a SHA-256 hash. Regenerate it and the old one dies instantly.
 * **Publishes as a user you choose.** Every article gets a real author, and the
connection can never do more than that user is allowed to do. Point it at an
Author account and it cannot touch your categories.
 * **Reads your theme.** Colours, fonts and content width come from the active theme
and Site Editor, so generated articles match your design instead of guessing
   at it.
 * **Writes your SEO fields directly** into Yoast SEO or Rank Math.
 * **Updates its own posts.** Publishing a draft or refreshing internal links doesn’t
   need extra permissions.
 * **Speaks Polylang**, if your site is multilingual.

#### What it costs

The plugin is free and always will be. BlogTend is free to start — no card — and
paid plans begin when you want more articles than the free allowance. Pricing is
at [blogtend.com](https://blogtend.com/).

#### Who it’s for

Shop and studio owners whose site should answer the questions customers ask all
day. Hotels and travel businesses whose guests search the destination before they
search the brand. Online stores that need buying guides. Estate agents who need
neighbourhood guides. Consultants and agencies running a schedule per client site,
everything held as drafts for review.

#### How this plugin works with BlogTend (third-party service)

This plugin only _answers_ requests. It does not send anything to BlogTend on its
own, has no scheduled jobs, and makes no outbound requests. It does nothing at all
until a request arrives carrying the token you created.

When BlogTend does connect, it reads your categories, your recent post titles and
links, and your theme’s design tokens, and it writes the articles and images you
asked it to publish. That exchange is governed by BlogTend’s [Terms of Service](https://blogtend.com/terms)
and [Privacy Policy](https://blogtend.com/privacy). Deleting the plugin, or regenerating
the token, ends the connection immediately.

A BlogTend account is required for the plugin to do anything. Without one, the plugin
sits idle.

#### Security

 * Only a hash of the token is stored, and tokens are compared in constant time.
 * A request without a valid token is treated exactly as it would be without the
   plugin installed.
 * The token works only on the routes listed below, never on the rest of your site.
 * The plugin never makes outbound requests and has no scheduled jobs.

#### For developers

The plugin adds a small set of REST endpoints under `autopress/v1`:

 * `GET /ping` — connection check: publishing user, WordPress version, detected
SEO plugin, upload limit and what the connection may do.
 * `GET /theme` — the site’s colours, fonts and content width from the active theme
   and Site Editor.
 * `POST /media` — upload a JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP or AVIF image into the media library.
 * `POST /post` — create a post (draft, pending, scheduled, private or published),
or update one it already created.
 * `GET` / `POST /categories` — list categories; create one, or return the matching
   one if it already exists.
 * `GET /posts` — a compact list of recent published posts, used for internal linking.
 * `POST /seo` — write the SEO title, meta description and focus keyword into Yoast
   SEO or Rank Math.
 * `POST /translations` — link posts as translations of one another on sites running
   Polylang.

The token is also accepted on the standard WordPress endpoints for posts, media,
categories, tags and `users/me`. No other route on your site is affected.

## Орнотуу

 1. Install the plugin from **Plugins Add New** (search for “BlogTend Connector”),
or upload the ZIP file, then activate it.
 2. Go to **Settings BlogTend**. A connection token is created the first time you
open the page — copy it straight away, it is not shown again.
 3. Choose the user posts should be published as, then click **Save settings**.
 4. Create a free account at [blogtend.com](https://blogtend.com/), add the site using
your site address and the token you copied, and set your first topic and rhythm.

## FAQ.KG

### Do I need a BlogTend account?

Yes. The plugin is the WordPress half of the connection; the researching, writing
and scheduling happen in BlogTend. On its own the plugin sits idle and does nothing.
Starting is free and takes no card.

### Will the articles read like AI slop?

That is the thing worth being fussy about. Every article is written from research
it actually fetched — the sources are listed in the post and re-checked at publish
time — rather than from a model’s memory. It arrives as structured blocks: tables
where there is a choice to make, steps where there is a process, a real FAQ, a takeaways
box. Judge it on the output: publish in **draft** mode first and read a couple before
you let anything go live.

### Is AI-written content against Google’s rules?

Google’s guidance is about whether content is helpful and original, not about how
it was produced. What gets penalised is mass-produced pages made only to game search.
Which is exactly why BlogTend researches before it writes, cites what it used, skips
topics you have already covered, and lets you hold everything for review. You are
still the publisher — read what goes out.

### Do I have to let it publish automatically?

No. Three modes: publish live on schedule, land in your WordPress Drafts for approval,
or hold in BlogTend until you send it. Switch whenever you like.

### Can I edit an article after it publishes?

Yes. It is an ordinary WordPress post. Edit, delete, re-categorise, change the featured
image — exactly as you would with something you wrote.

### Will the posts match my theme?

The connector hands BlogTend your palette, fonts and content width from the active
theme and Site Editor, and the article blocks are painted from those. That is what
the `GET /theme` endpoint is for.

### What permissions does the plugin need?

The plugin acts as the user selected under **Publish as**. That user needs to be
able to publish posts, upload files and manage categories; any administrator, and
usually any editor, already can. The connection can never do more than that user
is allowed to, and it only applies to posts, media, categories, tags and the current-
user endpoint.

### Can I limit what the connection can do?

Yes — point **Publish as** at a user with a narrower role. An Author can create
and publish their own posts and upload images but cannot create categories, so category
creation will be refused while everything else keeps working.

### How do I rotate the token?

**Settings BlogTend Regenerate.** The previous token stops working immediately
and the new one is shown once. Paste it into BlogTend to reconnect. Rotate it if
you think it has been exposed, or when someone who had access to it leaves.

### I lost the token. Can I look it up?

No. Only a hash of it is stored, so it cannot be recovered — generate a new one
instead. The settings page shows the last four characters so you can tell which
token a site is using.

### What data leaves my site?

Nothing leaves on its own. The plugin has no scheduled jobs and makes no outbound
requests. It only answers requests that arrive with a valid token, and it answers
with exactly what was asked for: the connection status, your categories, recent
post titles and links, your theme’s design tokens, and the IDs and URLs of content
it just created.

### Which SEO plugins are supported?

Yoast SEO and Rank Math are written to directly. If neither is active, the SEO title,
description and focus keyword are stored as post meta (`_autopress_seo_title`, `
_autopress_seo_desc`, `_autopress_seo_keyword`) so a theme or another plugin can
pick them up.

### Connections fail with “Missing connection token” even though a token is set

Some servers strip the `Authorization` header before PHP sees it. BlogTend also
sends the token in an `X-AutoPress-Token` header, which is not affected, so this
is rare. If you would rather fix the header, add this to your `.htaccess` above
the WordPress rules:

    ```
    SetEnvIf Authorization "(.*)" HTTP_AUTHORIZATION=$1
    ```

### Does it work with a security plugin that restricts the REST API?

Usually, yes: the connector authenticates the request before those restrictions
are evaluated. If a plugin blocks the REST API outright, allow the `autopress/v1`
routes in its settings.

### Why do the endpoints and settings say “autopress”?

BlogTend was previously called AutoPress. The REST namespace, header and option
names kept the old identifier so that sites connected before the rename keep working
without reconnecting.

### I had the older “autopress-connector” plugin installed. What happens?

This version replaces it. Activate BlogTend Connector and the old copy is deactivated
automatically; your token and settings carry over, and you can delete the old plugin.

### Does it work on multisite?

Yes. Each site in the network has its own token and publishing user under its own**
Settings BlogTend**.

## Өзгөртүүлөр

#### 3.0.2

 * YoDon is now BlogTend (blogtend.com). Only the name and links change: connected
sites keep working, no new token is needed, and the plugin keeps its `yodon-connector`
folder so updates arrive as usual.

#### 3.0.1

 * Media uploads load only the WordPress admin helpers they call (`file.php` for
the temporary file and sideload, `image.php` for attachment metadata); the unused`
   media.php` include is gone.

#### 3.0.0

 * The plugin folder and text domain are now `yodon-connector`, matching the plugin’s
name. An installed `autopress-connector` copy is deactivated automatically and
   its token keeps working.
 * `POST /post` can now update a post it created: send `id` with any of `title`,`
   content`, `status`, `excerpt`, `slug`, `date`, `categories`, `tags` or `featured_media`.
Publishing a draft and refreshing internal links no longer need the core endpoints.
 * New `GET /theme` endpoint: the site’s palette, fonts and content width from the
active theme and Site Editor global styles, so “match my site” works through
   the token alone.
 * `GET /ping` now reports the upload size limit, locale, timezone, site languages(
Polylang) and whether the publishing user may post unfiltered HTML.
 * `POST /post` responses include the stored `content`, so the caller can tell whether
   anything was filtered out.
 * Image uploads larger than the server’s limit are refused with a clear message
   instead of a generic failure.
 * The settings screen now processes its forms through `admin-post.php` and redirects,
so refreshing the page can no longer regenerate a token by accident. Notices
   are dismissible.
 * Removed the permissive CORS headers; the connector is not called from browsers.
 * Added `uninstall.php`: deleting the plugin removes its options and transients.
 * Requires WordPress 6.0 and PHP 7.4.

#### 2.1.0

 * Added `POST /translations` for Polylang sites, and a `lang` parameter on `POST/
   post`.
 * `GET /ping` reports whether the site is multilingual.

#### 2.0.0

 * Added dedicated endpoints for publishing: `POST /post`, `POST /media`, `GET`/`
   POST /categories` and `GET /posts`.
 * Connection tokens also authenticate the standard WordPress endpoints for posts,
media, categories, tags and `users/me`. All other routes are untouched.
 * Added a “Publish as” setting.
 * Tokens are stored as a SHA-256 hash and shown only once. Tokens from 1.0.0 keep
   working and are converted automatically.
 * Uploads are limited to JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP and AVIF, and verified against their
   contents.
 * Categories and tags can be sent by name as well as by ID; missing ones are created.
 * Added the `X-AutoPress-Token` fallback header.

#### 1.0.0

 * First release: token authentication, `GET /ping` health check and `POST /seo`
   metadata push.
