Cart Conversion Boost

Сүрөттөө

Cart Conversion Boost helps you increase your checkout conversion rate by passing the customer’s name and email from your opt-in form into your ThriveCart checkout page *. It works with:

  • Thrive Themes opt-in forms (Thrive Architect and Thrive Leads, including 2-step lightbox opt-ins)
  • Kit (formerly ConvertKit) forms on your WordPress site (Kit’s embedded forms, the Kit plugin’s Form block, and the Kit plugin’s Form Builder block)
  • Elementor Pro forms and popups
  • Other opt-in forms on your page (MailerLite, Mailchimp, Contact Form 7, WPForms and others) that send people to your CartConversionBoost URL

Take the customer details before they get to the shopping cart, so you can follow up, and convert more to completed sale, in case of cart abandonment.

When a visitor signs up through your opt-in form, this plugin ensures their name and email address are automatically pre-filled on the ThriveCart payment page – reducing friction and improving the user experience.

The free version has every feature, for one product:

  • One product – one CartConversionBoost URL for one ThriveCart product. Its checkout can be on thrivecart.com, on your own checkout domain (for example pay.yourdomain.com), or embedded on one of your pages
  • Auto-fill your Buy links – on your pages, links to your product’s ThriveCart checkout or to your CartConversionBoost URL get the visitor’s details added automatically, so a 3-step funnel (opt-in, sales page, checkout) needs no special links
  • Sitewide Identity Persistence – remember the visitor across every page of your site for the rest of their visit, so the Buy button on any page opens a pre-filled checkout
  • Opt-in pre-fill – fill your Thrive and Kit opt-in forms for visitors you already know (for example from a link in your emails), so it’s one click to continue
  • Silent opt-in – in a 3-step funnel, when a visitor you already know clicks a Buy button that opens a pop-up opt-in (Thrive Architect lightbox, Thrive Leads 2-step lightbox, Kit modal form or Elementor Pro popup), the pop-up is not shown. Its form is filled in and submitted for them behind the scenes, so they still join your list for that form (for example your cart-abandonment list), and the next thing they see is the pre-filled checkout
  • Embedded and popup checkouts – your product’s ThriveCart checkout embedded on your own page is pre-filled too

Cart Conversion Boost Pro is the same plugin with unlimited products.

🚀 Key Benefits

  • Improve conversion rates
  • Reduced cart abandonment
  • Capture the lead before the payment page
  • Pre-fill ThriveCart checkout fields automatically
  • Reduce friction during checkout – Faster checkout experience
  • Simple setup inside WordPress admin
  • Lightweight and performance-friendly
  • NoCode interface

A smoother checkout experience often leads to higher completion rates and better user experience.

Why This Matters

Every extra step in a checkout process increases the chance that a customer abandons their purchase.

When customers must re-enter information they already provided, it introduces:

Friction
Delay
Drop-off risk

Cart Conversion Boost removes this friction by connecting your opt-in form and your ThriveCart checkout.

🔗 How It Works

  1. A visitor completes your Thrive Themes or Kit opt-in form, which captures their name and email and sends them to your email provider
  2. The CartConversionBoost plugin passes the name and email into the correct format for ThriveCart
  3. The visitor is redirected to your ThriveCart product checkout page
  4. ThriveCart checkout fields are automatically pre-filled
  5. With Sitewide Identity Persistence on, the Buy links for your product are pre-filled for the rest of their visit too
  6. Customer completes purchase faster

No complex setup, integrations or third-party connectors required.

  • Not affiliated with or provided by Thrive Themes, Kit or ThriveCart. This is a 3rd-party bridging tool. Thrive Themes, Kit and ThriveCart are trademarks of their respective owners. Cart Conversion Boost is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Thrive Themes, Kit or ThriveCart.

First Name, Last Name and Full Name

Opt-in forms and checkouts ask for names in different ways, and Cart Conversion Boost handles each of them:

  • Opt-in asks for a full name (Thrive Themes default): the full name is sent, and also split into first name (the first word) and last name (the rest). “Mary Ann Smith” becomes Mary / Ann Smith, which the buyer can edit if needed.
  • Opt-in asks for a first name only (Kit default): the first name is sent. No last name is guessed – if your checkout asks for one, the buyer types it.
  • Opt-in asks for first name and last name separately: both are sent exactly as entered, with no splitting, and the full name is the two joined together. In Kit, add a custom field with the key last_name. In Thrive, add a field named last_name.
  • Opt-in asks for email only: just the email is sent.

On the ThriveCart side, whether your checkout shows one “full name” box or separate first and last name boxes, the right boxes are filled, because the full name, first name and last name are all sent (whenever they are known).

Key Features

  • Automatically pass name and email to ThriveCart
  • Works with Thrive Themes opt-in forms and Kit (ConvertKit) forms
  • Handles full name, first name and last name fields
  • Works with ThriveCart hosted, embedded and popup checkouts
  • Lightweight and fast
  • No external dependencies (just your opt-in form and ThriveCart)
  • No tracking or analytics
  • Simple setup
  • No cookies, and nothing is stored on your server
  • GDPR-friendly approach

Privacy, Cookies and Browser Storage

Cart Conversion Boost does not set any cookies, stores nothing on your server, and does not send visitor data to us or to any third party.

To pre-fill checkouts after a Kit form or another on-page opt-in form, and across pages with Sitewide Identity Persistence, the visitor’s name and email are kept in the browser’s session storage (sessionStorage). This browser session storage:

  • stays in the visitor’s own browser and is never sent to us or shared with any third party
  • can only be read by your own website
  • is cleared when the visitor closes the browser tab or window
  • is never used for tracking, analytics or advertising

One exception: when a sign-up form opens a new browser tab (Mailchimp’s standard embed code does this), session storage cannot reach the new tab. For that case only, the name and email are also kept in the browser’s local storage for up to two minutes, and deleted as soon as the new tab has picked them up (or when the two minutes are up).

In URL Mode (Sitewide Identity Persistence off), nothing is kept for Thrive Themes opt-ins (the details travel in the redirect URL), and details from a Kit form or another on-page form are removed from session storage as soon as the checkout link has used them. The Kit plugin’s Form Builder block submits through WordPress, so for that block the details are passed in the redirect URL, just like Thrive.

With the Silent opt-in, when a visitor you already know clicks your Buy button, the details they have already given are submitted to your own pop-up opt-in form for them, exactly as if they had pressed its button. The form sends them to your email provider as it normally does. The plugin never ticks a consent box or answers a captcha for a visitor: a form with either is always shown.

A note on privacy law: UK and EU rules (PECR and the ePrivacy Directive) cover any storage of information on a visitor’s device, not only cookies. They exempt storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the visitor has asked for. Cart Conversion Boost only keeps details the visitor has just typed into your opt-in form (or that arrived in a link you sent them), and only uses them to pre-fill your forms and checkout for that visitor during their visit, so we believe this falls within the “strictly necessary” exemption. You remain responsible for your own website’s privacy policy, and we recommend mentioning this pre-fill feature there. This is not legal advice.

Use Cases

Cart Conversion Boost is useful for:

Free-plus-shipping offers
Course creators
Digital product sellers
Membership sites
Service providers
Marketing funnels
Lead magnet funnels

Any funnel using a Thrive Themes or Kit opt-in followed by a ThriveCart checkout can benefit.

Requirements

  • WordPress
  • Thrive Themes (Thrive Architect or Thrive Leads), or Kit (ConvertKit) forms on your WordPress site
  • ThriveCart account (Basic or Pro)

Silent Opt-in

Use this with a 3-step funnel: squeeze page opt-in, then sales page, then checkout, where the Buy button on your sales page opens a pop-up opt-in (so that only people who click Buy join your cart-abandonment list). It works with a Thrive Architect lightbox, a Thrive Leads 2-step lightbox (ThriveBox), a Kit (ConvertKit) modal form opened by a link or button, and an Elementor Pro popup opened by a button.

When Cart Conversion Boost already knows the visitor’s name and email, the pop-up would only ask for details they have just given. So it is not shown. The pop-up form is filled in and submitted for them, Thrive Themes or Kit adds them to the list for that form and redirects as usual, and the next thing they see is the pre-filled checkout. While the checkout loads, the Buy button shows a short message (“One moment – taking you to your order…”), which you can change in the settings.

The pop-up is shown as normal (pre-filled where possible) when:

  • the visitor is not known yet
  • the pop-up form does not lead to your checkout, or (for Thrive forms) “Send form values” is not ticked
  • the form has a tick box (for example a consent box), a captcha, a drop-down, or a required field that cannot be filled from the visitor’s name and email – the plugin never answers these for a visitor
  • Thrive Themes, Kit or Elementor rejects a value, or the hidden submit has not gone through after 12 seconds

Important: the pop-up form’s Target URL (Thrive), redirect address (Kit) or Redirect (Elementor) must be your Cart Conversion Boost URL, or the cart will not be pre-filled.

Kit pop-up forms that open on a timer, on scroll or on exit are shown as normal, as are Thrive Leads boxes that open on exit. You can switch the feature off on the settings page.

See the installation video at https://cartconversionboost.com/how-to-use-thrive-conversion-boost-plugin/

  1. Install via the WordPress plugin repository.
  2. Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen in WordPress.
  3. Navigate to the Cart Conversion Boost plugin settings page in your admin dashboard.
  4. Add your product’s Checkout URL (see below) and save. Copy your CartConversionBoost URL (it looks like yoursite.com/cpccb/0).
  5. Set your opt-in form to send visitors to your CartConversionBoost URL after they opt in:

Thrive Themes: click your opt-in form – “After successful submission” – “Redirect to Custom URL” – paste your CartConversionBoost URL as the Target URL, and tick / check “Send form values”.

Kit form (embedded, or the Kit plugin’s Form block): in Kit, open your form – Settings – “After subscribing” – choose “Redirect to an external page” – and paste your CartConversionBoost URL.

Kit plugin Form Builder block: set the block’s “Redirect” setting to your CartConversionBoost URL.

Elementor Pro form: in the form’s Actions After Submit, add Redirect and paste your CartConversionBoost URL. The name and email are added automatically.

Other opt-in forms on your page (MailerLite, Mailchimp, Contact Form 7, WPForms and others): set the form to send people to your CartConversionBoost URL after they sign up. Mailchimp’s standard embed code opens a new tab – that works too: the name and email are passed across to the new tab. ConvertBox: redirect to your CartConversionBoost URL with the form fields passed in the URL as email and name.

3-step funnel (opt-in, then sales page, then checkout):

Send the opt-in to your sales page (Thrive: tick “Send form values”; Kit: redirect to your sales page, or show Kit’s success message on the same page). Link your Buy buttons to your ThriveCart product URL (the one you saved) or to your CartConversionBoost URL – the visitor’s details are added automatically. Sitewide Identity Persistence keeps them for the rest of the visit. If your Buy button opens an opt-in instead of going straight to the checkout, that opt-in’s Target URL must be your CartConversionBoost URL.

What to save as your product’s Checkout URL:

The Checkout URL is the address of the page where your buyer pays. It is one of these three:

  • A thrivecart.com product page: your product’s ThriveCart address, for example https://yourname.thrivecart.com/your-product/
  • Your own checkout domain (a subdomain): if your ThriveCart checkout runs on your own domain, the product’s address there, for example https://pay.yourdomain.com/your-product/
  • An embedded checkout: if the ThriveCart cart is embedded on one of your own pages, the address of that page, for example https://yourdomain.com/checkout/

Then use it the same way for all three: save the product, copy its CartConversionBoost URL, and use that URL wherever you send the buyer to the cart. An opt-in that sends the buyer to the cart must always use the CartConversionBoost URL as its Target URL (Thrive) or redirect address (Kit), or the cart will not be pre-filled.

Kit-hosted landing pages (on Kit’s own domain) are not supported, because the plugin can only run on your own WordPress site. Put the Kit form on a page on your site instead.

FAQ.KG

Does this plugin require ThriveCart?

Yes. This plugin is designed specifically to work with ThriveCart checkout pages.

Which opt-in forms does it work with?

Thrive Themes (Thrive Architect, Thrive Leads) and Kit (ConvertKit) forms placed on your WordPress site. If you want us to add your opt-in form platform to this plugin, contact us to request it.

What data is passed to ThriveCart?

  • Email address
  • Full name, first name and last name (whichever your opt-in form collects – see “First Name, Last Name and Full Name” above)

My Kit form only asks for a first name. Will the checkout still work?

Yes. The first name and email are pre-filled. If your ThriveCart checkout also asks for a last name, the buyer types it. To pass the last name too, add a Kit custom field with the key last_name to your form.

Can I use this with the Pro version?

You use this free version OR the Pro version. One or the other. If the Pro version is active, the free version will automatically deactivate to prevent conflicts. The free version has every feature, for one product. The Pro version is the same plugin for an unlimited number of products, so you can scale and grow your revenue.

Does this store user data or use cookies?

No cookies are used and no visitor data is stored on your server. The name and email are kept in the visitor’s browser session storage so your checkout can be pre-filled during the same visit. Browser session storage is cleared when the visitor closes the browser tab or window, and the data is never sent to us or any third party. See “Privacy, Cookies and Browser Storage” above for details.

Does this require coding?

No. Setup is designed to be simple and user-friendly. Just copy and paste your URL as shown in the easy-to-follow instructions.

Мүчөлөрү

Өзгөртүүлөр

0.0.5

  • New: works with Elementor. Elementor Pro forms set to Redirect to your Cart Conversion Boost URL pre-fill the checkout (no shortcodes needed), Elementor opt-in forms are pre-filled for visitors you already know, and Silent opt-in works with an Elementor Pro popup opened by a button.
  • New: other opt-in forms on your page (MailerLite, Mailchimp, Contact Form 7, WPForms and others) – the name and email are read as the form is sent, so a form that redirects to your Cart Conversion Boost URL pre-fills the checkout, even when the form opens a new tab (as Mailchimp’s standard embed does). ConvertBox works by passing the form fields on its redirect.
  • New: Silent opt-in. In a 3-step funnel, a visitor you already know who clicks a Buy button with a pop-up opt-in (Thrive Architect lightbox, Thrive Leads 2-step lightbox, or Kit modal form) no longer sees the pop-up. Its form is submitted for them behind the scenes and they go straight to the pre-filled checkout. See “Silent Opt-in” above. On by default; switch it off on the settings page.
  • New: the free version now has every feature of Cart Conversion Boost Pro, for one product: Sitewide Identity Persistence, opt-in pre-fill for Thrive and Kit forms, and pre-fill of your product’s checkout wherever it is (thrivecart.com, your own checkout domain, or embedded on your page).
  • New: Buy buttons can link straight to your product’s ThriveCart checkout URL as well as to your Cart Conversion Boost URL. Both are pre-filled.
  • Improved: your product’s Cart Conversion Boost URL is now permanent and keeps the number it already has.
  • Improved: a Cart Conversion Boost URL now goes to the checkout in one step. Before, WordPress first redirected it to add a trailing slash, then the plugin redirected again.
  • Improved: when a Cart Conversion Boost URL sends the buyer to a page of yours with an embedded checkout, the plugin now hands the details to the embedded cart itself as well.
  • Improved: when a visitor you already know submits a Kit form that asks for a first name only, their last name is kept for the checkout.
  • Change: the free version uses the first product in your list. If your site has more products saved from Cart Conversion Boost Pro, they are kept with their Cart Conversion Boost URLs, and their links still take buyers to the checkout, but only the first product is pre-filled.

0.0.4

  • New: works with Kit (ConvertKit) forms – Kit’s embedded forms, the Kit plugin’s Form block and the Kit plugin’s Form Builder block.
  • New: first name, last name and full name are handled separately. Opt-ins that ask for a first name only, first and last name, or a full name are all supported, and a full name is only split when nothing else is available.
  • Improved: the CartConversionBoost URL also accepts first_name / last_name fields from Thrive opt-ins.

0.0.3

  • New: works with ThriveCart embedded checkouts and popup checkouts on your own pages (2-step and 3-step funnels).
  • Fix: checkouts that ask for first name and last name separately are now pre-filled (first and last name are sent as well as the full name).
  • Fix: emails containing “+” (e.g. name+shop@gmail.com) and names containing “&” are passed through correctly.
  • Fix: ThriveCart URLs that already contain a “?” (e.g. ?coupon=) now work.

0.0.2

  • New feature: Auto-Fill ThriveCart Links – when a visitor lands on a page with their name and email in the URL (e.g. from a Thrive Themes opt-in), all ThriveCart checkout links on that page are automatically updated to include their details. This reduces friction and improves checkout conversion.
  • New admin toggle: Enable or disable the Auto-Fill ThriveCart Links feature independently from the main plugin toggle.
  • Compatibility: Works with dynamically loaded page content (e.g. Thrive Architect).
